How it all began
Every gathering starts with one evening
हमारी कथा
Nothing here was founded, exactly. It was begun - quietly, by a handful of people - and then it was kept. This is the story of the keeping.
The first evening
This is where the beginning belongs: the year, the room, the handful of people who sat down together the first time, and what was sung. It was almost certainly small - these things always are - and the people who were there will remember it better than any website can.
Write it the way it would be told aloud after satsang: plainly, with the names of those who should be named and nothing invented around them.
The name
जानकीशरणम् - in the refuge of Janaki. The story of who chose the name, and why, belongs here. A name like this is not branding; it is a sentence the community says about itself every time the word is spoken.
What it grew into
From one evening to a rhythm: the weekly singing, the study, the kitchen that feeds a few hundred once a month. This section should trace that growth honestly - the years it was three people in a small room count as much as the years it was three hundred in a courtyard.
What has not changed
Whatever else this section says, it should end where the community still stands: no membership, no fee, and always room for one more. The story is not finished - it adds a line every Saturday.
The rest of the story is told in person. Come to a gathering and watch a line of it being written.
